High Court Collegium prescribes arrangement of two new appointed authorities to Gauhati High Court

As on January 1, the Gauhati High Court is working with 23 appointed authorities as against its authorized strength of 30 adjudicators.

The High Court Collegium on Thursday suggested the rise of a legal official and a supporter as judges of the Gauhati High Court.

Coming up next are the names suggested for height:

– Shamima Jahan (Supporter); and

– Yarenjungla Longkumer (Legal Official)

The Gauhati High Court Collegium had suggested the above names on May 29 last year.

The High Court collegium then counseled its kindred appointed authorities knowledgeable with the issues of the Gauhati High Court and examined all the material put on record. In the wake of examining the names and material on record, the High Court Collegium cleared both the names for height as the appointed authority of High Court.

“Having respect to the abovementioned and the assessment of our consulteecolleagues and on a general thought of the suggestion made by the Collegium of the Great Court, the Collegium is of the thought about view that (I) Ms Shamima Jahan, Supporter and (ii) Ms Yarenjungla Longkumer, Legal Official, are appropriate for arrangement as Judges of the Gauhati High Court,” the Collegium goal said.

As on January 1, the Gauhati High Court is working with 23 appointed authorities as against its authorized strength of 30 adjudicators.
