Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force apprehended four individuals in Lakhimpur Kheri. These accused allegedly activated SIM cards using unsuspecting citizens’ identities. They then created UPI IDs which were exploited for financial fraud. Online gaming applications were reportedly used to facilitate these fraudulent transactions. Investigators are now probing further links to larger cybercrime networks.
