Former Congress MLA Mukesh Srivastava has been arrested by the Uttar Pradesh Vigilance Establishment in a disproportionate assets case. He allegedly amassed assets significantly exceeding his known income during his tenure as an MLA. Srivastava is also under investigation in multiple other vigilance cases linked to alleged irregularities in the multi-crore National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) scam.
