The Punjab and Haryana High Court on December 20 looked for Punjab government’s reaction on a request looking for 33% booking for ladies legal counselors in the State Backer General’s office [Sunaina v. Territory of Punjab and Others]
Equity Sanjeev Prakash Sharma requested that the State document its reaction before January 5, 2024, when the Court will hear the matter. The State counsel acknowledged notice and looked for time to document an answer.
The request was passed on a request documented by 26-year-old legal counselor, Sunaina, testing the promotion gave by the State last month for commitment of 63 legal counselors as Partner Supporter General
The request has provoked the commercial to the degree it gives no booking to ladies advocates.
The solicitor contended that the refusal of reservation to ladies was disregarding the arrangements of Punjab Common Administrations (Reservation of posts for Ladies) Rules, 2020, which accommodate 33% booking for ladies to different posts in Punjab.

The candidate had presented her application under the Overall Classification.
“The inaction with respect to the respondent Territory of Punjab in not giving reservation to Ladies Promoters, for enlistment as Regulation Officials of different classifications in the workplace of Supporter General, Punjab, is in gross infringement of the arrangements contained in … The Punjab Common Administrations (Reservation of posts for Ladies) Rules, 2020,” the supplication said.
