Calcutta High Court holds late night hearing to arrange arrival of legal counselor captured from inside court

A seat of Judges Harish Tandon and Hiranmay Bhattacharya held the meeting at 8:30 pm after advocate Prosenjit Mukherjee, who was captured, composed a letter to the Court looking for help.

A division seat of the Calcutta High Court held a late night hearing and remained the request passed by single-judge Equity Abhijit Gangopadhyay who had requested the capture of a legal counselor from inside the court on charges of hatred of court.

A seat of Judges Harish Tandon and Hiranmay Bhattacharya held the conference at 8:30 pm after advocate Prosenjit Mukherjee, who was captured, composed a letter to the Court looking for help.

The division seat then, at that point, continued to remain the request for Equity Gangopadhyay taking note of,

“We feel that it is a fit situation where the interval insurance is to be stretched out to the litigant being an Individual from the Bar and of a legitimate calling. We, hence, remain activity of the request dated eighteenth December 2023 by which the litigant has been coordinated to go through a time of three days common detainment until additional request for this Court.”

The letter by Mukherjee to the Court said that he was arrested by the Sheriff/Appointee Sheriff regardless of offering unrestricted conciliatory sentiment under the steady gaze of the single-judge.

He was subsequently delivered yet he told the division seat that he catches that the request may, whenever carried out, put him in guardianship once more.

The Court, consequently, continued to remain the single-judge request.

The Calcutta High Court Bar Affiliation had before collectively settled and mentioned the Central Equity of the Great Court to pull out all legal work from Equity Gangopadhyay.

In a letter addressed to Boss Equity TS Sivagnanam, the Bar Affiliation said that it has passed a consistent goal in such manner “after the outrageous affront dispensed to advocate Prosenjit Mukherjee.”

The affiliation had likewise settled that no part will step into the official courtroom Gangopadhyay except if he “is sorry”.
