A Bench of Justices SM Subramaniam and V Sivagnanam permitted the habeas corpus request documented by Shankar’s mom, holding,

“We have managed issues of perniciousness, the right to speak freely of discourse, opportunity of press. It is the need of great importance. Habeas corpus appeal is permitted. Request of detainment is saved. The detente is requested to be delivered forthwith on the off chance that he isn’t needed in some other case.”

Shankar’s mother, Kamala, had tested the preventive detainment of her child. Shankar was confined by the Tamil Nadu Police in May this year on charges that he offered disparaging remarks against ladies in a meeting given to another YouTuber Felix Jerald.
