DMDK pioneer and entertainer Commander Vijayakanth died at a confidential medical clinic in Chennai at 71 years old on Thursday. He was on ventilatory help following his confirmation for pneumonia after he tried positive for Coronavirus.

MIOT Global clinic said in an official statement: “Chief Vijayakanth was on ventilatory help following his confirmation for pneumonia. Notwithstanding the best endeavors of the clinical staff, he died in the first part of the day on 28th December 2023.”

An enormous group crowded his home not long after the news broke with DMDK allies grieving the demise of the veteran chief.

Communicating despondency over the destruction of the pioneer, PM Modi tweeted “Very disheartened by the dying of Thiru Vijayakanth Ji. A legend of the Tamil film world, his magnetic exhibitions caught the hearts of millions. As a political pioneer, he was profoundly dedicated to public help, leaving an enduring effect on Tamil Nadu’s political scene. His passing leaves a void that will be difficult to fill.”

Rahul Gandhi tweeted “Profoundly disheartened by the death of DMDK pioneer, Thiru Vijayakanth ji. His commitments to film and governmental issues have made a permanent imprint on the hearts of millions. My ardent sympathies to his family and fans during this troublesome time.”
Prior in November, Vijayakanth was hospitalized and was discharcharged after almost multi week, after which he unveiled his most memorable appearance on December 14 at a leader and general chamber meeting the party. He reported his significant other as the new broad secretary of the party during this gathering.

An enhanced entertainer, his political excursion started in 2005 when he drifted his ideological group and won from the Virudhachalam voting demographic in the following Tamil Nadu Gathering races.

In 2011 he held hands with the AIADMK and his party tied down 20 seats to become Tamil Nadu’s primary Resistance, leaving the DMK at the third position.
