CBI court sentences UP railway goods clerk to 4 years in bribery case

A CBI court in Lucknow sentenced a former railway clerk to four years imprisonment. Durgesh Bahadur Singh accepted a bribe of ₹7,200 in a 2017 case. He demanded the money to reduce a ₹1.26 lakh demurrage charge. The CBI caught Singh red-handed while accepting the illegal gratification. The court also imposed a fine of ₹10,000 on the convicted official.
